Two psychiatrists in New Zealand can now prescribe MDMA in controlled clinical settings, built on trial results that have been challenged in the US.
“Party drug”
Ok boomer.
Getting into Berghain with a doctor’s note.
It’s crazy when you consider how many marriages could have been saved with some mdma and a good therapist.
I was thinking the same this weekend while my wife and me were hugging and kissing on a party after using MDMA. We used pretty regularly, like once a month and is pretty great
Dude I’m having a party at my house. It’s gonna be so crazy we’re inviting Molly to heal all our trauma. It’s gonna get crazy!
Oh, is that what I was doing, all those years clubbing through New York in the 90s? Treating my PTSD?
I’ll let my psychiatrist and the NYPD know… i’m sure my lawyer and Paul Oakenfold will be thrilled to hear it
I know a person that will get bad cluster headaches every 6 months to a year. The episodes last about 30+ minutes, can be triggered for a month+, and can be triggered by many things. Oxygen treatment is known to stop an attack when they start, but their doctor wouldn’t prescribe it, and insurance wouldn’t cover it. They joined some online support groups and ended up taking a tab of acid that eliminated them. Not just an attack, but they haven’t had any for a couple of months since.
It’s foolish to not at the very least allow medical research and clinical trials for any substance as long as there’s evidence that it can help. If meth cured cancer, meth should be be allowed to be administered by doctors.
that eliminated them
I read that as in eliminated the person.
You might be shocked to learn that meth is Schedule II alongside Adderall and Vicodin while weed and ecstasy are Schedule I (no medical benefit).
It’s foolish to not at the very least allow medical research and clinical trials for any substance as long as there’s evidence that it can help
There is nothing restricting this. No drug company will trial MDMA or psylocibin because there is no patent, not because of laws.
NIH could fund these trials but the NIH is gone.
Mmmm I have a fun story.
I have sleep apnea. My machine broke (I black market bought it since it costs like 3-5K for a sleep study).
I’m a drinker. So I move a whole house in the pits of hot ass hell. Don’t drink enough water. Prep the place for my sister to visit, to check on my cats, while I go overseas for a vacation. Sure I had a few shots on before and on the plane, I get serious anxiety on planes. I happened to be on the biggest piece of shit plane they had also. Their O2 system smells bad, iykyk. Then I get into the garbage airport. Long story short I black out. My O2 sat got so bad, I turned my watch off so I didn’t have to see warnings.
The punchline, is the jackass EMS fuck that I saw twice that day asked me why I need oxygen. So there I am in the hospital and they do the same shit, I ask for oxygen and they ask why, I’m not asking for opioids you fucking morons. I should have just taken the fucking O2 tank behind me and used it before I had a seizure. Thanks Doctor Dipshit.
They did all the tests
they could, I fed the vampire bank, and found nothing other than I have a slightly fatty liver. Thanks for wasting a week of my vacation—the assholes wouldn’t discharge me.The point I was referring to is that, often times, these so called doctors get on a high horse and ignore you. It seems like I was just used as a training dummy and a blood vessel; it wouldn’t surprise me with the amount of blood they took from me that it was used for other purposes. It also pissed me off they were trying to put the Vietnam vet next to me on the streets. Like take my bed spot.
On the positive note I got special treatment on my flight.
Fuck the medical field these days. Btw I have a fair share of medical training. It was fun to tell the dipshit nurse in training on how to properly do shit after he idk fucked up 4 times on putting an IV in.
Sorry for the long rant, I have no trust for the medical system. Cost is one thing, incompetence is a bigger problem.
But it could get them high so we don’t care if it can help people. - The DEA
Meth is allowed to be administered by doctors.
But yeah, you’re right.
Well I’ll be. I didn’t know there was pharmaceutical grade meth. I was going to suggest perhaps heroin as a better example, but apparently there’s a medical version of that too.
However, my experience is living in the US where schedule 1 drugs are at least blocked for medical use in the US. I don’t know if that extends to research or not.
So heroin and LSD are banned in the US where at least heroin is allowed in some places as diamorphine.
apparently there’s a medical version of that too.
Cocaine and PCP are schedule 2 in the US, so they can be prescribed by doctors as well.
EDIT: I’m taking a little dramatic license here, but the above is strictly true.
Optometrists still use cocaine on toddlers, for example, since it’s helpful for opthamology, to determine whether they have eye problems.
Not in bag form, of course, but in eyedrops.
I had completely forgotten, but we studied cocaine in elementary school (again, ridiculous dramatic license): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_the_Stars
The way I understood it was that it was used as a numbing agent for the eye (-caine as in novacaine, lidocaine, cocaine) and that the only reason they used it was because nobody had found anything better.
Doctor, I have a clinical case of boredom and I need to be dusted
Meth is in American vicks nasal inhalers too
Not the same chirality.
Correct
Here is a very interesting Podcast about pain and psychedelics (cluster headaches, phantom pain and more):

Did MDMA fix their headache issues?
Negative, in this case it was LSD. It was just an anecdotal example of how some illegal substances mostly used for recreation can work as good if not better than many prescription or OTC drugs on the market. I’ve heard good thing about psilocybin as well for issues like depression and PTSD. Weed now being at least medically legal in many places is a testament to it’s medicinal benefits as well.
I really like seeing these types of articles, because these issues such as PTSD, depression, headaches, etc… can be absolutely debilitating, and it’s nice to see new options that can not only help, but do so very effectively.
I think mdma was previously used for marriage guidance amongst other things before it sort of disappeared… then Shulgin repopularised it and it changed an entire generation.
There’s an episode of the Drug Science Podcast about using MDMA to treat alcoholism. It was a small sample size, but the rate of sobriety at 1yr post-treatment was something like 85%, compared to 15% with treatment-as-usual.
I’m not an alcoholic and had never been, buy I use MDMA regularly and can’t even think on getting drunk. Compared with MD, getting drunk suck ass.
Psilocybin and LSD were tested successfully in the late 1950s in Canada.
That’s some impressive numbers. Might take a
looklisten later, thanks.No problem. It’s Episode 10 from 5/26/2020.
Right in time for all the IOF soldiers to go there for treatment.
This is your way of getting to admit ive got traumas that cause PTSD levels of stress?
