I think mdma was previously used for marriage guidance amongst other things before it sort of disappeared… then Shulgin repopularised it and it changed an entire generation.
There’s an episode of the Drug Science Podcast about using MDMA to treat alcoholism. It was a small sample size, but the rate of sobriety at 1yr post-treatment was something like 85%, compared to 15% with treatment-as-usual.
I’m not an alcoholic and had never been, buy I use MDMA regularly and can’t even think on getting drunk. Compared with MD, getting drunk suck ass.
