Top officials at Ukroboronprom, Ukraine’s state-owned defense conglomerate, violated the law by allowing weapons depots to be located in the Kyiv suburb of Vyshneve, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on July 11.
The announcement comes after Zelensky told journalists on July 9 that a criminal investigation had been launched into the massive explosions in Vyshneve during a recent Russian missile attack and that dismissals at Ukroboronprom would follow.
Vyshneve, a small town on the western outskirts of Kyiv, endured a night of terror on July 6 when it came under Russian drone and missile fire during a mass attack on the capital. An ammunition warehouse was hit, triggering secondary explosions. Seven people in Vyshneve were killed, while 29 others suffered injuries.

So the damage caused by these secondaries probably lead to these deaths, hence why Ukraine is going public about it.
The Ukrainian language isn’t allowed here for some reason. On a community called “World News” that says “Not United States Internal News”[sic] in the rules. Or it’s not the community fault, I don’t know…

I believe they do this because they want all articles to be in English. The way they implement this is to allow only the Latin script to be used for submissions.
Mod (on another community) here. You can select specifically which languages you want to allow, and then if the user tell it is written in another language (through the dropdown near the editor), it will refuse the post.
You can still post in Ukrainian if you lie and tell it it is English 😆.
You can, but don’t expect that to spark a lot of discussion. Limitation is set to English so that majority of participants can understand what you’re saying. It wouldn’t add much to the thread if this comment was written on Finnish (my native language).
That’s honestly one thing Google is great about in the YouTube comment section. Credit where credit is due. I’ve had full on complex discussions with a Russian, a Turk, some Arabic speakers (wasn’t sure from where but they were responding in Arabic), and we could almost understand each other 😂😂
If you are replying to someone claiming to be Finnish followed by some bs then maybe it would…
I had a lot of sympathy for Ukraine in 2022. But I lost all of it when Zelensky started shilling for Israel.
You lost sympathy for the people of Ukraine, because their leader does the same as most leaders of other western countries?
How would the US and Europe react if he was pro-Palestine?
It really does suck that a leader of a country opressed by a fascist dictatorship turns to a another fascist dictator to save them. I have been voicing this for quite a while. Such deals come with strings attached and then you put your country under the yoke of another fascist. But nevertheless one less fascist is one less fascist. If Ukraine comes out of this dismantling Putin, I will take that (despite Israel also probably coming out of it stronger).
Strange that western media didnt show this news
There’s plenty of news coverage on this on multiple outlets. BBC, Reuters and a ton of European national broadcasting companies, for example.
I might have missed it, thank you.
This is the kind of thing entities like Hamas need to learn to crack down on. Its a lot harder to say “oops we missed your valid military target and hit a school instead” if the valid military target is a decent distance from civilian infrastructure. Even Iran is pretty bad at that.
Israel has systematically embedded its military command centres, bases and nuclear sites within densely populated areas. This strategy deliberately puts Israeli civilians at risk — especially now, as missile attacks continue to escalate between Israel and Iran.
What a stupid take where you are not only fully consuming and regurgitating Israeli talking points but also creating false equivalencies.

Problem: You’re parroting Israeli talking points and they are lying to you. Specifically when it comes to Al-Shifa hospital, everyone knows the tunnels were made by Israel, not Hamas.

And I get to ban you for being an unrepentant zionist. Thanks for taking the mask off, makes my job easier!
Way to both sides the “conflict” when one side is succeeding in a genocide. Judging what a population does in their struggle for existence is missing the forest for the trees.

My brother in christ, you accuse me of what you yourself are doing. One side lives in an open air prison and the other has built that prison, including many of the tunnels. When a slave murders someone in pursuit of their freedom it’s not a good thing, but it is not the fault of the slave. There’s your difference!

Oh my, full throated regurgitation of Israeli propaganda. I’m sure you think that a calendar in Arabic is a terrorist plot too… Tsk tsk
For those who still don’t know how far Israel is willing to go with their lying: https://www.france24.com/en/tv-shows/truth-or-fake/20231116-idf-claims-to-find-list-of-hamas-names-but-it-s-the-days-of-the-week-in-arabic
A video posted directly by Israel’s Defence Forces claimed that it had found Hamas weapons and technology, as well as a “list of terrorist names” in Arabic, showing each agents’ rota guarding Israeli hostages under the Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital in Gaza. However, a translation of the document shows that it contains no names but instead a calendar of the days of the week. Vedika Bahl explains in this episode of Truth or Fake.

I provided a link showing that whatever your sharing is incorrect, where’s yours?
Not only that, also a false equivalence same as the first commenter did.
I never equivocated the Israeli actions and the Palestinian ones. I would say anyone arguing in good faith should agree that both sides have done bad things. The scale may be wildly different, but that doesn’t magically make it okay. The axis powers did the most wrong in WWII, but internment of japanese civilians by allied powers is still not okay.

Incorrect - my link shows that Israel lies about militant infrastructure being placed under civilian infrastructure.
Your false equivalency is on quite a few different levels but mostly trying to equate “military infrastructure” of a sovereign state with a standing army (and the available space of a whole country) defending against another invading state, versus one of the most densely populated places on earth (the size of Manhattan) that has been under siege since 2005 with a civilian population fighting back against a 80+ year long campaign of genocide, ethnic cleansing, displacement, and colonization as if that’s supposed to even warrant similar rules of engagement (which it doesn’t according to Geneva convention and international law btw) and that’s assuming Israeli claims are true (which you have failed to provide proof of and merely stated as fact).
You then go on to blame the victims of a decades long genocide that this was the outcome that they wanted and planned? Gross.
But go on keyboard warrior…you know better and can definitely tell people fighting for their lives what they should do. I’m sure you’ve experienced similar situations.
Not to mention Israel doesn’t really make those kinds of translation mistakes. Most Israeli’s are at least partially bilingual, and almost all signage/packaging/etc is written in hebrew and arabic. I would be extremely surprised if anyone who has lived in Israel for more than about a year didn’t know the names of the week in arabic. Any more than someone living in Canada not knowing them in french. They may forget whick ones correspond to whick, but they should recognize that that is what they are.
I don’t know what point you’re trying to make.
Israel doesn’t really make those kinds of translation mistakes.
That they are fluent enough in Arabic and they purposefully lied?
That they are fluent enough in Arabic and they purposefully lied?
Umm, yeah? I know this may come as a shock, but sometimes Bibi is less than truthful.
I know that any criticism of Hamas immediately brands me as some kind of Zionist shill, but I’m under no delusions about the fact that Bibi is a war criminal. I am surrounded by many extremely pro-Israel family members. The amount of times I’ve heard “technically its not really a genocide” and had to tell them that “technically I only committed manslaughter, not murder” isn’t exactly a good thing is ridiculous.
For the record, I personally believe the Israeli government is probably committing a genocide, even by technical terms. But even if by technicality they aren’t, I don’t think that absolves their government at all. I just dont think that millions of people should be kicked out of their homes, on either side. Sadly that seems to be a largely minority opinion these days.
Damn that’s crazy, so Russia wasn’t bombing civilians in Kiev?
They have been bombing civilians from the start of the war and ramping up those attacks as part of a terrorisation and demoralisation campaign. They are also bombing legit military targets. These things are not mutually exclusive.
Also: Kyiv*
As a Ukrainian I’m happy to spell Kiev the traditional English way

A Ukrainian who almost exclusively posts about Australia?
Yes we came to Australia as refugees after the war lol?
Fair enough, just threw me off at first glance but I’m privileged enough to have no experience with that stuff.

It sounds like they missed some civilians and accidentally hit an unfortunately-located legitimate military target instead.
