Top officials at Ukroboronprom, Ukraine’s state-owned defense conglomerate, violated the law by allowing weapons depots to be located in the Kyiv suburb of Vyshneve, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on July 11.

The announcement comes after Zelensky told journalists on July 9 that a criminal investigation had been launched into the massive explosions in Vyshneve during a recent Russian missile attack and that dismissals at Ukroboronprom would follow.

Vyshneve, a small town on the western outskirts of Kyiv, endured a night of terror on July 6 when it came under Russian drone and missile fire during a mass attack on the capital. An ammunition warehouse was hit, triggering secondary explosions. Seven people in Vyshneve were killed, while 29 others suffered injuries.

I believe they do this because they want all articles to be in English. The way they implement this is to allow only the Latin script to be used for submissions.

Mod (on another community) here. You can select specifically which languages you want to allow, and then if the user tell it is written in another language (through the dropdown near the editor), it will refuse the post.

You can still post in Ukrainian if you lie and tell it it is English 😆.

You can, but don’t expect that to spark a lot of discussion. Limitation is set to English so that majority of participants can understand what you’re saying. It wouldn’t add much to the thread if this comment was written on Finnish (my native language).

That’s honestly one thing Google is great about in the YouTube comment section. Credit where credit is due. I’ve had full on complex discussions with a Russian, a Turk, some Arabic speakers (wasn’t sure from where but they were responding in Arabic), and we could almost understand each other 😂😂
