I wonder what is the ratio of wet vs dry brushers.
You don’t have a sink in your shower?
On the toilet. I multitask.
I take cold showers, so I am doing everything in my power to get in and out in 2 minutes or less. I would absolutely not add teeth brushing to my routine in there.
… who tf brushes their teeth in the shower
Me
People trying to wrap this shit up as fast as possible.
I mean, if I’m already showering, sometimes I’ll brush whilst showering
But 99% of time, the sink
I brush them in my mouth.
But where do you spit
The sink, obviously.
What kind of maniac would keep their toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and whatnot in the shower? (Or even worse, carry them into the shower, wash their teeth, shower with only one hand while awkwardly holding onto them with the other, awkwardly dry themselves using only one hand, and then store them back next to the sink where they belong?)
I do it lying in bed
Y’all weird. I brush my teeth in my mouth.
The same sink I piss in? No thanks
I wouldn’t brush my teeth in the same shower I shit in either.
In the sink like a sane person. How is brushing teeth in the shower saving you time?
Brush teeth during the pre-rinse cycle
Yeah while I’m setting my hair and while I’m washing the shampoo out of my hair
Seems dangerous to open your mouth while rinsing shampoo. I too like to live life on the edge.
How long is your pre-rinse? Are you covered in thick wool or something? Are you naturally water-repellant?
Baaaaaaa
Why would I brush them in the shower? It’s so much wasted water and you don’t even save time wtf
I typically turn the water off if I’m brushing in the shower. Hop in, shampoo, rinse, apply conditioner, turn off water, brush teeth, scrub body, turn water on, rinse, done. Makes use of otherwise dead time I’d spend waiting for the conditioner to work, and is comfortable enough with the residual heat from the walls and steam.
Ok that makes sense. Since I don’t use conditioner I don’t have any wait time in the shower.
I do the same thing as @redhorsejacket@lemmy.world - except I wait for shampoo to work. I read that shampoo takes 4-6 minutes to work. I then confirmed this with 2 dermatologists. This is especially important if someone is using anti-dandruff shampoo.
You guys only brush you teeth under the shower?!
I think my dentist would get very mad at me if I only brushed my teeth during holidays.I brush in the shower in the morning and I’m the sink before bed
On the sink. Brushing in the shower sounds like one of those productivity hacks people who think efficiency is important do.
Spouse does it, but they go goblin mode. Paste foam everywhere. I guess they find it fun.
Keeps all the white toothpaste flecks off the mirror.
Keep your mouth closed…
You can umm… You can also clean it.
Neither. I brush them whilst standing next to the sink.
I’ve never even considered brushing my teeth under the shower? That seems unnecessary and impractical imo. I shower ever other day usually and I brush my teeth at least twice a day, but currently 4 times a day due to braces. I don’t see how these 2 things align in terms of planning?
Despite what a dentist might say, I imagine most people still brush once a day. I grew up doing that and had no cavities or other issues.
Really? That would surprise me a lot. Maybe it’s a cultural difference, I’m not sure where you’re from. I can’t imagine that the majority of the people I know only brush once a day, I’ve never noticed anyone deviating from the normal morning/evening pattern. But I also haven’t really paid much attention so maybe I just haven’t noticed. How do people do that? I tend to notice quite quickly that I forgot toe brush because it feels yucky.
You know what, I’m not exactly surveying people regularly so I could be wrong. Maybe it’s from when I was growing up (it’s not exactly a common conversation as an adult) that I get that impression.
As for the teeth, I’ve never noticed it feeling off unless I’ve missed a whole day, but I’ve kept to brushing once a day (short of special occasions that you’d want to brush right before something in addition to your regular brushing) so I might not be tuned into that.
