Reddit’s AI ID age verification might affect the whole website. Reddit CEO Steve Huffman recently said that he is considering having “face ID” to ensure humanity to combat AI bots on the platform. Reddit may soon require AI facial scans and age checks just to use the website. Let me know what you guys think about this situation in the comments below.
There’s no intent to stop the bots. I’m convinced Reddit is in bed with Thiel just like Discord.
Peter Thiel and Sam Altman were some of the earliest investors in reddit (2014 funding round). Alexis Ohanian shared board seats at Y Combiner with those guys. Of course they’re together.
Honestly like 80% the enshittification we’re seeing can be traced back directly back to late stage Y Combinator and Sequoia Capital decisions.
Yeah I admit the thought crossed my mind that providing some sort of verification would fix a lot of crap on the internet but I sure as fuck don’t trust Huffie or anyone sympathetic to this administration to have good intentions.
LMAO. Good luck with it since Reddit is literally flooded with bots right now.
Each day that goes by, I realize more and more how much of a favor Reddit did for me by banning me permanently.
These tech folks are the single worst group of people I’ve seen yet. Totally high on their own farts with delusions of grandeur. I hope they get put in their place soon. They’re literally fucking scum.
Sounds great for Lemmy usage stats?

Bot’s won’t have to provide face id, obviously. You can buy our new bot-license for only 3 dollars per month.
You’ll probably have to pay in Dogecoin, or Sam Altman’s shitty WorldCoin. Sam wants to assign you a wallet by scanning your retina, so that tracks.
hahahahah! no.
A ton of the bullshit on Reddit is from teenagers.
