I hate the republicans 2% more, but I still despise centrist dems and dont trust them as far as I could throw them. You just have to look at Joe Bidens history in congress to see what a weasel shit he always has been, and he is the patron saint of centrists.
As for Obama, I wanted so much more out of him. His folksy shtick worked for me for a long time, but now he seems like a retired salesman.
