I think the first will be contingent on the second?

I for one am perplexed; what is that company actually getting out of these affiliate signups? Even after people start paying, it’s costing them more than they’re making, and when they finally charge maintainable rates, everyone can just stop subscribing and lose nothing of value.

My regular walking speed is 8km/h… when I run distances it’s ~13km/h, and if I’m sprinting it can be over 20km/h.
They’re essentially saying the speed limit is set to swimming pool deck speeds.

It was Chuck Norris, wasn’t it?

Interesting times; Megaspeed revealed to be a shell company, NSO bought by US investors, Gaza humanitarian agency vanishes — seems like big players are making big moves right now.

Sounds like a win-win?

Let’s see… choice is: “stay here, be the victim of overt racism and live life with the threat that at any moment masked men may swoop in and carry off you or your family, or be regaled as a hero and given a prestigious position at a university at the front edge of your field, with as much stability as you could ever want….

Well, unless the seals are getting creative to survive….

I’m pretty sure that’s the one; only thing there is a Canadian lighthouse and a seal preserve, right? Most of the action takes place out on boats; the one group that tried to “stake a claim” on the island left with the first bad weather.

I saw a documentary about a group that tried this during Trump’s first term in office.
The locals just referred to them as whacko American tourists, sold them kitsch, and otherwise left them alone, other than for the Canadian locals to politely refuse them entry to Canadian or environmentally restricted areas and facilities.
The locals (both Canadian and American) figured eventually some nutjob from away would make a bigger stink, but until then, they saw things as relatively in hand.
I’m surprised Noem hasn’t showed up there yet, like she did to the library that straddles the border.

I haven’t been to the US since I had an already scheduled stopover shortly after Trump was elected (but before he was in office) the first time. Since then I’ve only taken flights that avoid US airspace.
Before that, I used to travel to the US regularly. I just don’t trust things to be both predictable and safe for foreigners anymore, since the current leaders have been very vocal that they consider the constitution to only apply to certain people.

Kinda goes with the “they should stay there” comments on here, doesn’t it?
I mean, put out an open call for political comedians, pay lavishly, let a few come and say whatever they want to provide an illusion of free speech, then have a comedy festival and lock up anyone who says anything critical about a political figure. Speech chilled, vocal critics removed from circulation. It’s a win-win for them.

Canada has accused the Lawrence Bishnoi gang of possible involvement….
I accuse the Canadian government of possible involvement in daily sock puppet shows during Question Period.
What does it even mean to accuse a group of possible involvement in something?
Just come out and accuse them of being involved — not necessarily the ones who pulled the trigger, but at this point there’s enough evidence they were involved.

I wonder what effect all this is having on the timeshare industry….

You’re completely correct.
However, I’m not a Trump appointee. They appear to have their own ways of doing things.

How many people linked to Kevin Bacon have died under mysterious circumstances?

Really sounds like Russia wants some breathing space to regroup before another attempt.

Welcome to the party, India!

That wasn’t obviously the case back when Microsoft started offering them services though. True, they should have started doing something about it at least a year ago, but so should have all the banks, investment funds, governments, etc. the world should have had a similar reaction as when Russia invaded Ukraine.
Is it a blind spot? They did discover and shut down those Chinese “police stations” in Germany….
