Whether or not the guy historically known as “William Shakespeare” actually wrote all those plays. For one thing, the plays were probably produced with a lot of input and modifications on the fly from the company itself, so already anything that Will himself wrote is going to have been significantly altered along the way.

For another, the historical Shakespeare is almost as much of a folk character at this point as Paul Bunyan, so anything we can “know” about him is what we can reassemble from the historical record after 400 years have passed, so it’s all fairly muddied anyway.

Could just some guy from Stratford have written those plays? Yeah, I think so. Could it have actually have been some nobleman writing under a pen name? Also possible, but doesn’t meaningfully change the content of the plays or my feelings about them. In hindsight, if it was a pen name, the dude probably should have just bit the bullet and published under his own name, because now some glover’s son is the Immortal Bard, and Edward de Vere is the guy that only the cork board and red yarn set care about.

Temperature. People all “it’s too hot, I’m cold” just shut up and go outside already. You can swim, start a fire, get naked, nestle in some brush, there’s nothing to get worked up about. You’re a self-regulating biological process that can both sweat and turn cheese you ate a week ago into heat. Those are turtle problems.

So many answers for strong opinions on “do what you like”.

A not-strong opinion is something like: ground pepper or cracked pepper? I recognize a difference, and I’d opt for cracked, but I really don’t have an opinion.

Sales and discounts and haggling. People go nuts whenever something is cheap or queue up for free give aways and such.

I only buy stuff when I need it and I will gladly pay full price for something. Things get too cheap you know. I don’t take free stuff, because it’s just more garbage or takes up space.

This is not a strong opinion. Of course I like to pay less or get free stuff, but only if I need those things. That’s what frugal means to me. I get that some people think of it in a different way of optimizing or gathering garbage for craiglist or whatever. It’s just not for me.

People putting pineapple on their pizza.

Whatever man. Some people like opera music. Some people like golden showers. And some people like putting pineapple on their pizza. Can’t we all just get along?

Usually about 25 of the 30 questions in the voting adviser. I don’t care if some party wants to take budget from primary schools and stick it in kindergartens instead or if we fund the F35 or whatever. I’m not a military plane expert nor work in educational finance but these are literally the questions they select to use as basis for your vote. Dudes, ask an expert! They’ll probably tell you “don’t know, but we can do a scale study to see which way works better”

Whatever topic I know has a reasonable expectation of making more people sustainably happy is what I click, and then usually it tells me I haven’t clicked enough answers for it to produce voting advice…

Most ‘current hot topics’ are either unknowable with current information, or just wholly irrelevant to bigger problems like when we’re going to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions and stop discriminating people

Other people’s lives. I don’t get why how other people live bother people. If they like the same sex, go for it. If they like to dress up as a goat on the weekend? Ok, cool. It’s your life, do what you want with it.

I mean, yes, but I’d add the qualifier “so long as it doesn’t impact others”. If you want to dump your trash in a communal area, it’s imo a bit too easy to say that it’s a free country and who am I to tell you not to do that. Maybe this sounds too obvious to spell out (to me it would have until recently) but I recently met two persons in unrelated places who really felt that nobody should tell them what to do because they didn’t tell anyone else what to do either. As if we don’t all share resources on this planet

Yeah, I should’ve said that as well. So long as you’re not causing harm to others, do what you want, like what you like, be who you want to be.

Same for me. Once I attended a chocolate workshop with this guy who was like a chocolate expert/connoisseur, and he started by saying “The best chocolate is the one you like.”

Celebrity gossip. I find it really difficult to care about what some celebrity said about something.

wait this seems like a strong opinion that celebrity gossip isn’t interesting. wouldn’t the neutral position here be that you would like to know what’s going on with your fave celebs but don’t go out of your way?

I’ve never gotten this either. Having an artist who’s work you enjoy and follow because they have a history of making something you like? Sure, but beyond that why care?

It’s not like an actor magically has a good talk on anything or is an expert on anything. They’re just famous.
