… Meanwhile another comment in the thread was talking about someone swallowing Bibi’s semen but I guess that’s okay.

**UPDATE: I challenged the ban because it was just a pun and they lifted it. **

You are indeed the person disconnected from reality that that user is referencing.

Would Harris have been marginally better? Sure, especially if you’re an American and have fully disconnected yourself from all foreign policy decisions.

Was she a good candidate considering the American electorate? No, she decided to be a Reagan era republican except even more racist and genocidal. We already had one of those running for the other side and those voters don’t change their letter.

Did she run a good campaign considering the historicity of the “independent voter” as well as the history of right-wing voters in this country? Absolutely not. She did every single possible thing to show she was not at all a choice for anyone not right wing, and we already had a right-wing president running for office on the republican side. She also showed absolutely ridiculous ignorance in the state of the American public by praising Biden during one of the worst economic periods in US history, directly caused by his policies.

The attitude on most lemmy instances was “vote blue no matter who dies.” You were not allowed to question why 1 million children in Gaza needed to die. You were not allowed to question why Iran needed to be invaded for their “continued transgressions.” You were not allowed to question why Biden intentionally destroyed the primary process and thus removed the entire fucking illusion of democracy in the democratic party. Hell when Biden was the candidate you were not allowed to question why a man who had one of the most public mental declines in world history, literally rivaling Nero, was the presumed candidate for president, especially given he had lower approval ratings than Trump by the end of his presidency.

You people (pejorative) were worked into this ridiculous cult-like frenzy, I suppose in response to the cult of Trump, not realizing that’s not why Trump won either time.

Regardless of her policies, many didn’t vote for Harris because she’s a black/asian woman. As long as Americans keep denying that, nothing will change.

The only people that did not vote for her because of her race and gender identity were never going to vote for a democrat, period.

So why did she spend her entire campaign exclusively catering to them?

Please provide any data, source, or survey for this claim that is not just ‘vibes some racist DNC/Shareblue commentator had.’

Because despite this claim being screeched by an extremely loud minority of non-intersectional identitarians for literally years at this point, I’ve yet to find a single person that believes this due to actual evidence they can provide.

Yes, the far-right that Harris spent the entirety of her campaign appealing to did not vote for her partially because of her race and gender.

Democrat voters that stayed home vs Obama or Biden did not give a shit about Harris’ identity. Just her history and politics, both of which were god awful for someone not running as a Republican.

This is a very naive position to take. Not all Democrat voters are as liberal and gender equal as you think. Not all Democrat voters are as informed or cares about the policies and positions of the candidates.

Overestimating the intelligence of the voters is why Democrats lose elections.

No, the opposite is why dems lose elections. If “overestimating” was the problem the DSA wouldn’t have won every single seat they ran in for the new york elections.

“That includes one-quarter of women under 50 and 20 percent of men under 50, who said they would not back a qualified female candidate for president, while 13 percent of men and women over 50 said they wouldn’t be open to supporting a woman for president.”

This is the only line about this, and the poll did not breakdown this derived stat by voter registration. So no. This does not support your thesis that democrat voters didn’t vote for Harris because she was a woman.

Not only is this survey not categorizing people along partisan lines, they don’t broach the individual topic of Harris’ campaign beyond her disastrous campaign introduction and the lack of primary.

So better luck next time. Do read the things you post, or better yet, spend more than ten seconds. Because this article and the conntected source poll do not even support the headline it has.

Which are half of number of republican voters that have voted in the last 3 presidential elections.

Most voters aren’t registered with a party, since it’s not required to vote, most people don’t care about party primaries since they have no constitutional basis or protections and have no legal requirements for operation and that is the exclusive reason you register with a party if you’re not planning on running.

Most Democrat voters in these recent state elections were not registered democrats.
