I think this was the point. Why else do you bomb a school? Hurting kids and ruining families creates generational rage, cries for vengeance, retaliation, and thus a constant little war that can go on in perpetuity. (To the delight of oil and defense industries.)

Iran going all in on rushing a working nuke sounds like an outcome they were too short-sighted and stupid to consider the ramifications of.
