Nah. The amount of money being spent coupled with it being dangerous is what leads to my apathy.

It would be different if the money wasted on this venture couldn’t drastically change the life of someone living in poverty, especially children.

The cartels don’t want the state to fail, because then they wouldn’t have structure to give the farm animals that serve them.

The government isn’t going to “fall” in the sense of a place like Haiti.

It may have already “fallen” by your definition, if you consider the government being run by the “terrorist groups” instead of its citizens as falling.

Mexico is run by the cartels. Anyone who threatens their power, especially in the government, is killed. Usually their families, too.
