Five years ago, a open-source project I worked on moved to Zulip (from Slack) and it was a small hurdle. But after a month, I really like it!
So much that I’ve pushed a few other open source projects (who lived on Discord).
I was really surprised when I started a new job two years ago and THEY used a self-hosted Zulip. It’s everything Im used to on Slack.
Discord has team speak/video sharing, which I don’t think Zulip has. But then again, we use something else for video calls.

For e2ee, neither does Discord, nor Stoat, which is what most of these comments are pushing people towards.

What was the problem with Zulip on mobile did you have?
I only use it for text chat, so I’m curious.

It does lead to slippery slopes. First, it’s to block “adult content”.
Then, they’ll consider certain topics “adult”. News about current events? LGBT content? Video games with some violence in it?
Facebook is an example of this slippery slope. And for parts of the country, they do need to scan an ID.

I share this because with Tiktok now in Trump territory, we have lost a lot of social media platforms to government censorship.

Not many people are bringing up that the US invaded a country and not only kidnapped a guy, but left a trail of bodies.

I rolled my eyes real hard at this.
As a Linux supporter, this is absolutely not the case and it’s going to piss off every person who swaps to Linux thinking it’ll be this easy, and then when they’re hit with reality, switches back to Windows.

Pretty much.
“What if American citizens decide to unite against billionaires?”
“What if Black Americans decide they want to be treated equally?”

The kids are posting, and I’m too old for this shit.

Could be Russians also spamming Indian subreddits.
I wrote a post about it on Reddit calling it out, and it got taken down. My investigation was finding a dozen posters who posted a lot of “libtard”-esque posts with Biden or Kamala in conservative_memes, and then having lots of posts on like Bollywood, Indian food, and Indian politic subreddits.

Conservative_memes is full of indians posting about American politics. You used to be able to see posting history until reddit wanted to protect the spammers

Same! I don’t know if this is the answer. But at least it’s something.
Back in my day, we had Big Brother Big Sister programs. But those programs were overwhelmed by need even when I was young.
And as kids (boys AND girls) turn to the internet and AI for direction about the opposite sex and how to treat each other, we need something to provide a another resource.

I haven’t had a Reddit account in two years. Unless they learn how to ban my router.
I’m okay with never stepping foot in Australia. They check your devices when you land and I’ve never been okay with that.

Someone shared this with me in discord and the link was deleted.

Gotta love it

Instead of a text messager, it hits my steam messager.
I open a browser, steam store opens up.
I click on where to download apps, it opens up steam.
I use my bank, it takes it out of my steam wallet.
I have a button to call Gabe.

Yikes on bikes.

Would love for your mod experience to come over here!
