I’ve never tried it, but my father tells me that if you use ABS and include the ASIN in the metadata there’s a tool (possibly built in?) that can fetch chapter timestamps

I use StoryGraph for my personal library management, but Goodreads simply has better coverage of both total books and specific metadata. But Audible is the best source anyway, as it has data specific to the audiobook other sources rarely do. I’ve included Goodreads mostly as a fallback for books Audible doesn’t have listed. One of the roadmap items is to add other sources, like Google books. At that time I would consider a source separate from Amazon/Google if a quality one can be found and conveniently called/scraped.

Metadata is written to the file at the time of operation, so Goodreads failing would not affect any existing metadata sourced from it. But Audible is the preferred source anyway, as it has metadata specific to the audiobook typically not available in Goodreads. I’ve included it as a backup for books (mostly older ones) that are not available on Audible. Goodreads allows user submissions and thus has just about every book available in its library.

It can do some metadata matching, but to my knowledge it doesn’t do any of the big ticket items like combining chapter files

Is the car market in Canada that bad right now? In 2021 I got my 2011 Nissan versa with around 60k miles for about 4k (USD). You just have to be willing to pass up some luxury features and find the right deal instead of buying from a dealership.

I use the tiller extension in Google sheets. With the community savings budget template to allow for 0 based or “envelope” budgeting. One of the few things in my life so far ahead of every other option I couldn’t bring myself to ditch it and selfhost.

IP and port are what I put in my browser

Definitely need remote access, and tunneling in every time I want to sync my notes app is way too much work. I’ve containerized these services as a security layer and you need user creds to access anything without an exploit. I’m comfortable with that level of risk.

Dynamic DNS is a very cool thing I didn’t know exists. I’ll definitely look into it further! But for the time being I still need a fix for my problem.

That’s where I found my current top contenders. Nothing had exactly what I’m looking for, which is why I turned here. It probably just doesn’t exist, but doesn’t hurt to ask.

As a W2 worker, as soon as I have all the tax documents I need. The longer you wait the more people get in line in front of you in processing, which can mean significant delays on your refund. If I were a business owner and owed taxes I’d wait as long as possible, so as to make the most use of the money I owe them.

I use joplin with joplin server running through a reverse proxy in a docker container. I love it. It also supports encryption, so you could use a more convenient service like Google drive and still be assured of your privacy.
