A cheese or margarita pizza is a great litmus test for a pizzeria. Anyone can pile toppings on sauced bread, but it takes skill, a well honed recipe and practice to make a simple pie sing.

If you’re in the US, use your best judgement. Those labels are largely marketing or wildly conservative so you throw out perfectly good food and buy new stuff.

I was just looking into this. I’ll parrot the other commenter and say the Samsung Galaxy line of a few years ago are solid gets and you can reliably get one for around that price point. I’ll add on Nothing phone’s previous models, too. Get em both from a reseller, not the brand store. Pixel devices have privacy focused 3rd party OS’s that are supposedly easy to use, but I haven’t looked into it.

Fully Linux phones are not quite there yet for the general marker or the price point you want.

If you’re outside the US or in the US and on Tmobile, you can look into Xiaomi or other Chinese devices, just double check that the radio bands actually work with your carrier. Service is better around cities, from what I saw when looking into an Oppo folding device then deciding to keep my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. I’m not sure how they work with hotspotting.

Double check the models as some have SD card slots, some do not, if that matters to you.

It’s good to keep in mind that the cost of space exploration vastly pales in comparison to most social programs which also vastly pale in comparison to the military budget.

We should absolutely focus on helping people on Earth, but we don’t need to cut space exploration to do that, just war.

There’s a $12 bottle of Monastrell that my roommate and I adore. It’s rich and complex with wonderful plum and fruit notes, it’s not too expensive, it’s vegan, and it always seems to be flying off the shelves.

Whenever I see it, I try to buy a case of it and we save the bottles, never opening more than one a night, debating if we should open another cheap red or “one of the good ones”.

The odd circumstances aren’t really relevant, though I admit they’re a bit odd.

If you break up on good terms, I think it’s healthy to stay friends. This person has valuable insight to who you were at a certain part of your life and unique perspectives.

You gotta be able to be respectful, though, both you and your ex. Don’t weaponize the intimate knowledge you have with each other to score points with their friends.

It’s only awkward if you let it be. I have a very good friend who is an ex because they wanted to move to another continent and I didn’t. Foolish in hindsight but whatever. By total circumstance, I’m now dating one of their ex’s. That pairing split because of different emotional desires. We all hang out when we’re in the same country, hell, the four of us (our shared ex married after moving) are going to the sauna together in a month or so.

It’s all very normal as long as you let it be.

That’s the thing, you don’t ever have to actually launch the dang nuke. The goal is that deterrent, not annihilation.

For whatever it’s worth, I think your questions make sense. MAD is kind of madness, but its how the world has worked since the invention of the atom bomb. And anyway, I can’t see or cast downvotes on my instance.

The consequences of having nukes?

MAD dictates that the US doesn’t fuck with nuclear-armed nations. That’s the consequence. You don’t need to actually launch it, just be able to.

Countries with nuclear weapons aren’t subjected to as much US imperialism because of the threat of retaliation.

Because no matter who wins, the DNC does the same shit. They continue the same RNC policies and programs they vocally decried during the previous term, but quieter, they expand US surveillance, military budget and expand the tools of oppression, they do fuck all to truly address the material conditions of the working class and we just get to watch the rich get wildly richer.

The DNC just… doesn’t help people. They just act as a way to lower the temperature away from revolutionary acts, but food, housing, education and medicine just keep getting more expensive, wages are utterly detached from productivity, they don’t get money outta politics and they won’t stand up to protect the rights of Americans.

They know damn well what candidates and policies are popular and they continuously pander to the donors instead of the hard working people that make this country turn.

Heck, whenever they do have a chance to actually work like an opposition party, there’s always conveniently juuuuust enough DINO members to stymie any actual progress. That way the rest of them can throw their hands up and say “ohhh we tried, but it’s their fault, I’m actually on the side of the people!” Bullshit!

They concede power to fascists again and again and make nothing more than milquetoast “resistance” to it and even exacerbate it in plenty of examples.

Biden was an utter failure. He was all talk. He didn’t act to enshrine Roe v. Wade into law, he slept on his promises about minimum wage, he could only give modicum to support to union workers fighting for better working conditions and he did nothing to stop the rise of fascism in his country.

Call me crazy but I think it’s on the DNC to run candidates with policies people like moreso than it’s the people should be demanded to vote for whoever they run. The latter policy has done nothing to help the working class American in the past 30 years, at least, it’s no shock they’re tired of it.

I think people would trust the DNC again if they started doing things to help people instead of just function as a halt to leftward politcal progress when it’s their turn.

As it stands, I really don’t care what they say they stand for or do, I don’t really trust the DNC to do much of anything other than maintain the status quo and quietly expand the RNCs horrors.

Not that my vote even matters in our wildly broken election systems. The vote always goes to the DNC candidate and has done so for nearly four decades.

There’s really just no way to actually vote for supporting the worker in the US. Hoping for change from Congress or the President is a fools gambit.
