I just looked that one up to refresh my memory and there’s three red flankers with that name, in various concentrations and note break downs, lmao.
I do love those bottles though.

The blackcurrant is so pretty in La Vie!

I had a bunch of Replica samples thrown in as freebees not too long ago, the one that smells like a tomato plant on a hot day was incredible. It’s not something I could wear on my skin but just the sheer sensory experience of it off a blotter, it was like I was momentarily teleported to some fantasy allotment in the middle of summer, to help harvest an abundance of tomatos.
I just looked Hwyl up and those notes look so good, I’m ordering a sample. I’m still quite new to green leather fragrances and I love getting to explore like this!

No worries : ).
Heads up though, if you get a bottle of Meringue you’ll need to spray it a few times and then let it sit somewhere cool and dark for a few weeks to sort itself out.
Idk why this is a thing that works to make so many clones better, but it really does.
I’m on my second bottle of Meringue now and those first few sprays were again so acrid and sour, it was unrecognizable against the dregs of my last bottle, and then about 20 days later, the new bottle had somehow caught up and was the perfectly elegant, fruity, white suede and vanilla of thr old one.

I never kept up with Narscisco Rodriguez after For Her for some reason, I just looked up the notes for this one though and it looks like a flanker- and it has ylang ylang, so I don’t doubt it smells gorgeous!
Do you wear scents too, or just the wife?

Echt Kölnisch Wasser is beautiful, it’s so fresh and light. I got through a bottle of that stuff in weeks a few summers ago, it’s so easy to keep topping up every few hours.
Does your Cuir Vanille have a pineapple top note? I have a couple of unbranded dupes with that name and they both smell like the clone of BDK Creme de Cuir that I have, Meringue by French Avenue.

You can filter by price on Parfumo, I haven’t tried it though, so I can’t tell you how accurate it is.

I have a few of those! My favourite is the Pendora one, you’d probably recognise it as the one with, for some strange and unknown reason, the picture of Che Guevara on the bottle. It smells like sticky clove rolling tobacco on me till it dries down, and that dry down is gorgeous too.
The Maison Alhambra clone of Tobacco Vanille isn’t bad either, but not one of their best imo.
Ngl, I like clones. I’m into perfume for the sensory experience, and while I have a good few spenny bottles, most of my collection is clones and vintage classics.

I do love me some Calvin Klein, their women’s scents rarely work on me but their men’s tend to be very unisex I’ve found. The men’s flanker of Obsession Night was a cool recent discovery, it smells like if Black Orchid was pear gummy sweets!
My mother collected but rarely wore perfume, my favourite of hers that she kept on her dresser but never wore, was Red Door by Elizabeth Arden. It reminds me more of the dresser than her though tbh.
Which Poison is your poison? There’s so many flankers and reformulations out now it’s hard to keep track.

Oooh, thank you! I keep missing these posts.

The Aquatic that started them all.
Alas this one never worked on me, it goes sour for some reason.

I’ve recently discovered and gotten very into Aramis and Cabochard.
These two could be brother and sister for how similar they are, both open with clean, crisp aldehydes and fresh green notes, Cabochard really leans in to those aldehydes though whereas Aramis goes green.
Aramis is more complex notes wise, it’s heavier, more spices, more greenery, more masculine. Cabochard is more minimalist, with cleaner lines and clearer notes, it’s also built around a heart of devestatingly beautiful ylang and rose.
Both though do eventually dry down into a very similar and gorgeously mossy leather.

When I was about 12 (late 90’s-ish), my asshole of a father sat me down and explained in detail how within my lifetime we’re going to see the end of global civilization by famine and war due to the oil running out, and how if anyone survived we’d never be able to build up to the same level of technology again as there isn’t another energy rich resource to exploit.
Fucking wanker still didn’t believe in climate change being real though, and he had a whole violent and shouty tantrum when he found out I did.
The narcissistic prick also went on to work in the oil sector and have more kids with his next wife.

Lmao.

It must be exhausting getting angry all the time becaise people can’t read your mind.

If religion caused violence I’m not sure why it’s not way more common. Evil shit heads are always looking for an excuse.
Can you show me where in your original comment it is that I was supposed to instinctively understand that you weren’t actually talking about religion causing violence in general?

Your original comment I replied to was only talking about violence, not murder.
Way to move the goal posts there buddy.

Domestic violence is pretty common amongst religious and far right people, no?
