I actually like that idea! (As a non-dbzer0 user). But a separate community might be too much at this point considering no one has made a comment about it. How about posts in this community with a specific “tag”? [MEGATHREAD] or something?

Not really no, I haven’t bumped into any issues using the community wiki megathread so far.

My question was prompted by me accidentally using a old bookmark that took me to rentry and noticed that it had seen updates very recently and compared to lemmy community wiki which seemed like it has not been updated since october. I started wondering whether the links were still all fine and there was no need to update them, or was it simply mostly abandoned and do people rather use rentry?

I personally prefer the lemmy community edition, but I’m such a noob when it comes to piracy that I put maybe too much trust into the megathread and this was just a wake up call to double check what am I clicking on and thought maybe asking the community about the state of the wiki wasn’t a bad idea.

Yeah with the “old megathread upkept by reddit’s piracy community” I mean that one and noticed that it is getting more edits than the community one here.

Wanted to basically know whether the lemmy community megathread is basically unmaintained and should I just use the rentry one. I really like the idea of lemmy community megathread, but I feel like if it is not maintained it might be more of a hazard. But I’m no expert and wanted a community discussion about this.

Edit: wanted to add that this is a pirate community afterall, would be of no shame to … pirate rentry megathread to lemmy community wiki every once in awhile, har har har

Lemmy is still growing and niche communities will take time to grow. I’ve also advocated for combining communities until a community grows to be too big and could use splitting into smaller, more dedicated communities.

Don’t remember which community we decided to lock and put a permanent stickied post pointing to another community for similar content until that community would become too big and we could reopen the closed community once there was a need for it.

But yeah its tough right now with smaller communities and trying to get the ball rolling. If you haven’t already, join us at !fedigrow@lemm.ee.

Wait, you mean the mod or the admin? The term “Admin” is used for system administrators of an instance. e.g. lemmy.world Admins are not necessarily mods of any communities, they own, upkeep, and administer the server. Mods are Moderators of a community and not often/necessarily Admins of the instance.

If Admin has disappeared/is inactive for too long the instance wont likely stay up long. If the said community is on your instance (so lemmy.world), the admins of lemmy.world are definitely active. They can transfer the moderation of the community in question to you.

Edit2: to clarify just incase: “Instance” is a lemmy server, so lemmy.world is an instance and happens to be your instance. My instance is “sopuli.xyz”.

Rather than making a new community ask the admin of the instance the community is on that they transfer the community to you. There are more likely to be subscribers already and we can prevent fragmentation of communities

Yes this works on many instances. I believe some instances even have a dedicated community for this but I can’t remember any right now… I think if you search for “support” communities each instance pretty much has one and you can request to take over a community whos mod is inactive.

There is a draw.io extension for VS Code (like another comment mentioned, it looks like the main application is vs code), and the UI elements inside the open tab with grid looks like draw.io’s minimalistic dark theme.

The screenshot you have in your post just has a different drawio theme than the default one. You can change the theme in settings of drawio.

Yeah you are right I don’t think there are such communities yet on fedi.

Setting up such community would truly help fediverse grow, but it does take effort until you have a sizable community.

What kind of community would that be?

I don’t remember bumping into r/GenZ before I left reddit, so I don’t know what kind of community you mean but we could make or suggest a community that would fit.
