The idea is that “you can’t break the system” and you have snapshots you can roll back to in case you do. Which is all well and fine. I think there’s a whole lot of xkcd 2501 going on. As a baseline I don’t even think many people who play games are very comfortable poking in ini config files, and you want them to write configs for their entire system? Don’t forget you shouldn’t blindly copy scripts from the internet without understanding them first as well!
I thought people might have. I’m a little surprised that wasn’t one of the first technologies to go in.
I don’t understand why some people insist on recommending NixOS as a first Linux distro. It’s so far from the norm and beginner friendliness they must surely be joking.
I’m sure they would implement it if requested 😄
Yeah, as in covering/supporting someone’s back.
Most laws are based in reducing human suffering, including religious text. Don’t use chemical weapons? Yeah, cool. Gurgling on your own intestines sounds like a pretty sweet thing to not have to worry about. Most of the 10 commandments are little more than “don’t be a dick of a human”. But religion has a way of taking it too far and instead start increasing suffering. Waging wars because the land is “rightfully” theirs. Honour killings because they love the wrong person. Enriching themselves at the cost of others, justifying it by saying god is rewarding them for their loyalty.
LGBTQ+, feminism, BLM and so on are there to reduce suffering and grant humans the rights they deserve. If a queer judge is biased towards not making their fellow queer people suffer more, then I don’t see a problem with that. If a judge has a bias towards continuing genocide, then yeah, there’s an issue.
I have an audio issue where it starts chopping if (I think, but could be CPU as well) the GPU struggles (think shader compilation). I’ve tried a couple of things to fix it, but haven’t been successful yet. So far it’s been my only major complaint.
Most recommended cameras are from China unfortunately. While I would prefer to not support them economically, they seem fine security wise.
No Hikvision from Amazon, good shout as I was looking at some of them there.
Oh, that might prove a bit difficult on a Linux machine. I guess I’ll have to borrow my room mates computer :P
Thanks for the shout about Frigate’s documentation. There’s a lot of good information on there!
Outside of a handful of multiplayer games pretty much any game will work under proton, new or old. Stalker 2 worked out the box on release day, early awkward 3D games like Gothic runs just fine, and your early point and click games will likely run just fine. Out of my 460 games*, only EA WRC doesn’t work because they introduced kernel level anti cheat after release.
*Edit: Just to clarify i haven’t tested all my games, but I have played a good number of them. Also another game that doesn’t run is Ground Control 2, but that doesn’t work on Windows since about 7 or 10, so it doesn’t count! ^^
Says the person who most likely isn’t sharing a bed room with 20 other people, in the same building as the factory. Yes, the world is shit, but don’t kid yourself if you got time to whine on the internet you’re an actual slave.
Looks like newer euro coins include Norway, but that wasn’t always the case, leading to this unfortunate creation:
Huh. I’ve never seen much slight of hand magic in person, and until now I wouldn’t have thought that would be my reaction. But I can totally see a 1-on-1 close up performance like that feeling very invasive.
I mean, there is definitely a crowd that don’t like women as lead characters. While not directly related to movies, just see how a bit of peach fuzz on Aloy upset people when they showed off the new Horizon game. And that’s not a poorly written game or character.
Something like Captain Marvel does suit your argument; a poorly written character and movie, so people who criticise it get lumped in with the “women are bad” crowd. But there definitely are people who just hate things that put women in the spotlight.
Edit: fix shockingly poor grammar and spelling.
I think I should try this game at some point. I feel like it has always been there. I might be making up memories, but I think I remember always seeing this game listed in the games section on any Linux distro I tried even over a decade ago. While other RTS’ have come and gone, 0 AD has always been watching from the shadows.
That’s the one I was gonna post! I think the text file containing ASCII 0s and 1s for an image of the Mona Lisa comes second.
