OP is still running 5 containers though? And why does a home server need to implement an IT security standard meant for large organisations? I hope you got an incident response policy written down, would be a shame to fail the next audit.

Loan interests and money I disagree with. Unless we get to a point where everything is in abundance and commerce isn’t needed anymore I feel like a common item we can agree the value of for goods and services is a pretty neat idea.
Similarly I don’t think interest is inherently evil. If i lend you money to buy something large that will take years to pay off, I wouldn’t want to lose a bunch of money with inflation. But predatory rates that bet on you defaulting can burn in hell. It’s disgusting that the whole fintech industry exists purely to maximise interest and debt at the cost of those who depends on those services the most.

Something something 1989.

Now I used to like RWJ, but it did become a bit cringe and corporate over the years, so I’m genuinely surprise how watchable that video was.

Yeah this is unfortunate news for me as well. I have a primary container I use for videos, and then a 10.10 server for music. 10.11 is borderline unusable for music for me, and I’ve tried everything for rescanning to completely redoing the server set up (rip accidentally deleting all my music playlists).
But i shall kill off the 10.10 container and hope a performance fix is in the works.

Is the guardian not mainstream now?

Advertisers don’t want to be viewed next to or adjacent to “problematic” content. Hence no swearing in the first 5 or so minutes in a YouTube video (right after add have played), self censoring words like cunt and suicide so algorithms don’t deprioritise you (again, because platforms make money from ads, so they won’t promote videos that aren’t as friendly).
It’s all in the service to appease advertisers, and they require platforms to roll out the red carpet wherever they tread.

With their 2.0 version they announced it as stable release. https://github.com/immich-app/immich/discussions/22546
I never used immich before then, but all updates I’ve done since starting (with docker) has worked flawlessly.

Myeah. Makes it sound like they built a new client quickly without future proofing it because the older client was hard to work with, only to create a new hard to work with pile of code. Rewriting software rarely works out to be the silver bullet you imagined it to be. In my experience taking something crappy and piecemeal make focused attempts at improving small parts at a time.

I got a quest 3 so my options on how to run it are limited to begin with, and I don’t know how native VR devices run on Linux. But i hope general support will improve with valves next VR headset since it will run Linux natively.
That’s a fair take. I can relate to the feeling of uncertainty. When I make small donations of a couple of euros I have to push away my feelings that the donation could be seen as insultingly low. It’s hard to judge what a “fair” price is. But after all, many donation buttons say “Buy me a coffee” so I would hope the amount is appreciated either way.
You’re not throwing money out the window though, you’re giving it directly to someone. Someone who has used their craft to create something that has value to you. I’m not necessarily criticising you for not donating, I just want to shift your perspective that your money wouldn’t be valued by other people.

I didn’t think much of what the “correct” location would be. But i have a general kinda everything share at /var/share/[music,books,video,user folders, repo]. And then any caching or config data sits in that dockers home folder under /etc/docker/[jellyfin,immich,kavita,etc] together with its docker-compose file. All docker services run under the group user so they all have access to the share.

I don’t think there is much they can do. No one is going to want to stand up against the US in this, and any escalation from Venezuela would be incredibly costly for them. I suppose there are two things they can hope for; hope the US population throws up enough of a stink the trump changes his mind or wait for something else to come around to occupy his attention.

With a quick look through the code I can see calls are being made to rebble.io and repebble.com. From there you can whois the domains.

They haven’t said the final price, but they’ve said it will be cheaper than the index, so definitely the under $1000.

Let’s get an escape room game playing as Eli escaping the crumbling black mesa!

Of course any one cheater is bad. But this is a massively successful game studio complaining about cheating when they admit to not putting any resources towards creating a team to combat cheating.

That is not at all what is said. The guy you’re replying to is also wrong. Alistair only claimed most of Linux users were cheaters, that would be 0.005%, not that most of total cheaters were on Linux. But that means during their all time steam player count peak (which was after the Linux ban) if 260k players, a total of about 13 people were cheating on Linux.
You’re just a right wing psy op to repress the birth of future left leaning voters! /s (I got inspired by recent comments I’ve seen)
But it’s an interesting idea that could royally screw with a country if followed through. But I think it has abysmal chances of actually happening. Choosing to not have kids when a couple is both willing and able is an incredibly large sacrifice to those that want kids. And you wouldn’t see if such a strike worked until 9 months later (or a not earlier since there wouldn’t be as many pregnancy scans).
