Has more direct, violent control of their own people? Sure. Worse than trump and friends? Dunno bout that. Due to trump’s malice and incompetence, he’s getting people killed in the US as well as abroad. Plenty in Cuba are suffering and dying because of him right now. Africa too. They’re both shit and I won’t root for either. I certainly won’t begrudge them killing our soldiers following illegal orders over there invading at least.

Depending on where water is sourced and local geography, water can have extremely different characteristics even town to town. Throughout most of Missouri for instance it’s sourced from the Missouri and Mississippi rivers and generally fine. Down south in Nevada Missouri there’s a high sulfur content in the ground. And the water pulled from it has a STRONG sulfur smell and taste. It’s safe to use and drink. But if you aren’t from the area, a struggle to use. Joplin not very far away has a completely different taste and characteristics to their water.

Generally any place that sources from a river as long as they don’t over chlorinate should be pretty acceptable to most people. The places that source from geologic aquifers or other more stagnant bodies that have a chance to leach larger contents of specific minerals from the ground. Can have distinct taste and smell profiles. Especially well water. It doesn’t matter where US or any other place on Earth will be the same.

Don’t defend either one. There’s no reason to. Iran legitimately is killing its own citizens wildly. The US interfering doesn’t suddenly make that acceptable. I condemn my countries actions and don’t think it should exist. And every time Iran embarases our government or strikes our soldiers and bases that it is deserved. That doesn’t atone for their other actions. Defend the peoples, call out the oppressive states.

Cachy is pretty solid. If you can name a distro I’ve at least tried it. Though I would still recommend mint for someone who has no idea what they’re doing and just need things to “work”. But garuda, endeavor or cachy are all pretty solid and straight forward. And with the talk of a new independent graphical package manager for Arch. It’s only going to get easier to operate and maintain.

Democracy is unfortunately never absolute. That would be anarchy and we could never be so lucky. But yes. Less democratic than the United States by a little for all that means. But slightly more than Russia or China perhaps? Either way, its a cluster no one should want to be part of.

In Orban’s last election he got less than 50 percent of the votes but 90 percent of the districts. If the same number of people vote as last time even a 20 point lead may still fall flat. Only a massive boost in turnout and disgust will see it through. And then we get to the real issue. His opponent in American terms is rather bidenesque. Not in terms of senility, but having a lot of the same uninspiring or awful positions. Having been a member of Orban’s party Fidesz. This in some ways is like 2020 in the US.

I want to believe. His opponent is a piece of work themselves. And a former member of Fidesz. But despite only winning 45ish percent of the vote in his last election. Orban won 90ish percent of the districts due to suppression and gerrymandering. Its relatable but soul crushing that a possibly less shit person is their remotely other option.

I technically agree with you but that’s not remotely the point. I’m against the death sentence in totality myself. I think even the petite bourgeoisie would be better handled by hard labor than death. And that the only acceptable time to kill is in actual self-defense. The death penalty for drug crimes is especially stupid. And so are unforced errors like not just sending them have to be another country’s problem and not yours.

When killing becomes an acceptable solution it also becomes the easy solution and the regular solution. Which should be the opposite of what a just Society goes for.
