American’s knowing nothing about the geography of the rest of the world? Say it ain’t so

I swear a good number of American sports fans don’t actually like their sports. Everything I hear that’s “good” about the Super Bowl is external and not the actual game

And irrelevant to the current post

Which tier is it where the police kill 1,317 people in a year? https://mappingpoliceviolence.org/

Hopefully this is because they now realise sportswashing doesn’t really work. I’m sure it still does to some extent but everytime they do something like this there’s a lot of articles about the human rights violations and killings. Can’t be good long term

Also that poorer people often eat more Ultra Processed foods, because it’s often cheaper and saves time. https://www.bbc.co.uk/future/article/20260220-how-ultra-processed-foods-influence-our-gut-microbiome

I used to think this until I thought about the amount of money we use every year treating obesity and the related health issues. From the UK this is more obvious as more and more of our tax is used to treat increased rates of cancer and mobility issues. But also in the US I guess everyone’s insurance has to go to up to cover those that require more treatment.
For me education is #1 but we also can’t allow unhealthy foods to be so much cheaper than the healthy alternatives.

Can’t really see much good coming from yet another left wing party. To the left of labour you have the Greens, Lib Dems, Plaid (Wales), SNP (Scotland), and now this new party.
All this does is split the left vote and make it easier for Reform under FPTP. Plus once this inevitably collapses, it will just put their potential voters (mostly young people) off politics rather than vote for another party.
I hope I am wrong but I think Corbyn has really misjudged this one.

Shocked we had the backbone to standup to the US if they did, as it looks, put pressure on to choose one of their providers.
Great to pick a UK company so the investment will stay here as much as possible.

Also brings to war to Russia, easy for people to ignore it if the fighting is away in Ukraine. Harder to ignore when soldiers are banging at the front door
Big risk expecting American voters to do the right thing. Wouldn’t rule out Trump coming out of it even stronger
