Yeah, I know, but sometimes I’m just not satisfied with the projects out there and would rather have my own where I can tweak every little detail. Another example is that I’m in the process of switching from Spotify to Navidrome right now but I haven’t found a good cross-platform FOSS client for it. I really liked Namida, but I don’t like their restrictive non-FOSS license and would add/remove/change some stuff. That’s why I started another music player app even tho there are even more of these ^^

Honestly I wouldn’t say “small parts” anymore. At the beginning I still read code and brought in my own judgment (as I actually have experience with web development). Nowadays, I rarely steer the agents as they have gotten pretty good at interpreting and implementing my intent. It’s just a side-project anyways. When I use the app, I collect things that catch my eye and let the agents work on them later. At some point, I’ll test everything again myself and release updates when I think it’s in a usable state.
I do think it’s a little silly how people here imply “vibe-coded” definitely means it’s bad and sloppy tho. I wonder if they also stay on an older kernel version because it now contains AI code.
