Summary

Gang members attacked the reopening of Haiti’s largest public hospital in Port-au-Prince, killing two journalists and a police officer, and injuring several others.

The journalists were covering the event when the Viv Ansanm gang opened fire, causing panic and chaos, with live-streamed videos showing people bleeding and huddled on the hospital floor.

Haitian leader Leslie Voltaire condemned the attack, pledging consequences.

Gangs control 85% of the capital, and violence has surged despite international efforts, including a Kenyan-led protection force.

This follows recent gang attacks on clinics and a December massacre of voodoo practitioners.

Aside from everything that article says (unless I missed it), I imagine that Haitians would respond better to a black security force rather than a mixed one.
