    Not necessarily. The rise of Trumpism is inextricably linked to the war on terror and the rise of American chauvinism that followed. Look back on the attitude of Americans post-9/11 and you’ll see a lot of the proto-fascism that develop with time and helped produce Trump 1 in 2016. 9/11 gave America PTSD that it has never really recovered from.
