Ben Gvir dubbed his […]

        thanks!

The party promises emigrants an “absorption package” including “assistance with travel, initial housing, vocational training, employment and support for up to 24 months,” as well as payments to host countries based on the number of Gazans they take in. Turkey, Ethiopia, the Congo and unspecified Arab countries are being considered as potential destinations, according to the party.

Sounds like this could work for a significant number of people:

JERUSALEM, May 6 (Reuters) - Almost half of Gazans may be willing to apply to Israel to help them leave to other countries, according to a survey on Tuesday that also showed significant support for anti-Hamas protests.

Ben Gvirs idea is still insane, tho…

Yeah I just feel like after 9/11 America invaded Afghanistan and Iraq with popular support:

Even before his speech, Americans were inclined to believe the worst about Hussein’s regime. In a survey conducted a few weeks prior to the State of the Union, 73% favored military action in Iraq to end Hussein’s rule; just 16% were opposed. More than half (56%) said the U.S. should take action against Iraq “even if it meant U.S. forces might suffer thousands of casualties.”

        And remember at the time

On 15 February 2003, a coordinated day of protests was held across the world in which people in more than 600 cities expressed opposition to the imminent Iraq War. It was part of a series of protests and political events that had begun in 2002 and continued as the invasion, war, and occupation took place. The day was described by social movement researchers as “the largest protest event in human history”.[1]

And Iraq and Afghanistan had the shit kicked out of them anyway with Dick Cheney acting as a Ben Gvirs type character

Nothing galvanises support for military action quite like a nation that has been attacked, and Oct 7th was the perfect in its genocidal massacres of kids dancing at a music festival:

Shortly after the October 7 attacks, there was broad support in Israeli society for military operations in Gaza.[690][691] A public opinion poll conducted in December 2023 by the Israel Democracy Institute found that 87% of Jewish Israelis supported the war in Gaza.[692]

I just don’t know if the gamble Hamas took with Palestinian lives has paid off in a way they hoped it would (and who knows maybe in 20 years time after spending 10 trillion zillion dollars Israel will pull out of Gaza as well)
