I think Putin should visit the front and take a few selfies of those winnings.

Putin won’t negotiate unless Russia is losing.

This is what Europe should propose to Putin. Russia will withdraw from all land it seized from Ukraine after the 2022 invasion. NATO would be dissolved and replaced with a European alliance. Ukraine and Canada would be permitted to join but not the US. All sanctions against Russia will be lifted. Russia will not be required to pay reparations. If Putin doesn’t accept the proposal, the UK and France would send troops to Ukraine.

Case closed, Panthera for the win.

Seriously though, Putin can’t back his ass out of the dumpster fire that he himself lit and both Europe and the US have been trying desperately to find a clean and easy way out of this mess literally for years, including throwing him the political lifelines that could’ve gotten him out before it got worse.

The fact that what you’re proposing hasn’t ever been seriously proposed by anyone in the US or EU, is probably because its the absolute dumbest bat%#* insane brain fart of an idea that anyone’s come up with so far…

Just to get this straight: you believe that we should allow Russia to just walk away without so much as a taunt, sticking the EU with the bill of rebuilding a giant gaping hole of a country in the heart of Europe, with the threat that if Russia ever tries anything, we’ll station a non-existent European army, even though we’ve disbanded the organization that’s supposed to command, supply and organize this army, after also excluding its key supplier of weapons, troops and logistics, while hoping he doesn’t nuke us now that we’ve voluntarily broken our nuclear triad, and to just assume till then that the same man who wiped his ass with most of the international treaties that Russia ever signed will actually keep his word and not take advantage of our self-imposed weakness?

Damn, bro… you’re like the spouse lying in the hospital bed with a concussion, swollen face, and broken jaw murmuring: ‘he’s changed, it’s not his fault, I deserved it…’

Putin won’t negotiate. You aren’t allowed to surrender in Russia. Putin is a dead man if the Ukraine war ends in anything except victory, and he knows it. His fate was sealed the second a Russian boot crossed the Ukrainian border

        Putin won’t negotiate.

Every war is a prelude to diplomacy.

Putin is a dead man if the Ukraine war ends

This is a mythology the media has invented to keep people titillated with the news.

You’re looking for a storybook ending with a mortality tale. The bitter truth is that Putin’s as cemented in place as any Russian politician has ever been.

This perpetual conflict is entirely ego-driven, with Ukraine caught in the middle of a tug of war. Putin won’t quit because he’s old and stubborn. The EU leadership won’t quit because they need this war as an excuse to rearm, after decades of US occupation.

If the economy contracts hard enough, we’ll see a negotiation. Until then, it seems that everyone in power is playing with house money. So the conflict can drag on indefinitely, because it’s more fun to play at war than manage a peaceful continent in decline.

I think this is a good settlement and no one should downvote it.
