    Iran elects popular leader who wants oil revenue to benefit his people instead of foreign interests -> US installs the Shah who is unpopular but friendly to US oil interests -> Iranian revolution of 1979 installs the current regime.

    And your solution to this is… more regime change? Shouldn’t the US have learned a lesson?

    Maybe a more recent lesson would make more sense?

    Iraq regime is unfriendly to the US - US takes out Saddam’s regime -> Rise of ISIS -> US has a huge mess to clean up now in both Iraq and Syria -> forever war continues.

    At what point do we admit that US interventions probably aren’t a good idea?
