So for months now I am owning an POCO F7 Ultra24122RKC7G usually the first thing i do is rooting the shit out of it, but since the last time i rooted a phone is a very long time ago (my previous was the poco f3 which died because of a spicy Pillow in the end) I just learned after I got this one that Xiaomi changed the process to a fuckin raffle of some sort… (See this dam screenshot)

So I forgot about it till today, where google just suddenly started its gemini shit and reminded me “you still got bloatware here!”

So my question is: is there any way To unlock it without this fucked up waiting times which never seems to work even if I got only Exactly at that given time Xiaomi tells us?

i’m saddened to learn that it’s gotten harder.

to unlock my xiaomi, i have to request it with a phone number attached to the phone; but i can’t get a phone number to attach to the phone because carriers in the united states have blacklisted it last year, so they keep kicking it off the network.

i made it a point to only use credit unions and even then, only credit unions that let me bank using firefox only.

unfortunately rooting nowadays is harder and xiaomi intentionally give cocoldown for unlock so no way around except waiting for it.

The Problem is not the cooldown. I can live with that.

What annoys me is that i have to apply to get some kind of rights to even get to the point where I have to wait for the cool down and it seems to be impossible to get those damn permission :(

Is your phone running MiUI or HyperOS? And which country are you and the phone from?

The unlocking procedure is generally easier for models running MiUI, and for Indian / European devices, than for HyperOS / Chinese devices.

If rooting is too difficult for you, and your problem is with a single app, you can kill that app alone from Android Debug Bridge or using Universal Android Debloater. You might need to do this again after major version OS updates.

That guide seems broadly correct, based on my experience unlocking an Indian MiUI device. But the exact steps and script vary slightly based on region (EU / India / China) and OS (MiUI vs HyperOS, with HyperOS being much harder to unlock). Guides might have bad English because most are written by Indians and Russians. You’ll have to put up with that. You can find help forums on Telegram, but avoid the scam ones (lots of ad-like posts from a single account, with no replies from other members).

did you get july 2026 security updates? there’s a very recent linux kernel exploit that’s (almost?) universally compatible and can root the device.

i believe it’s CVE-2026-43499, example for samsung phones here https://github.com/BuSung-dev/Root-My-Galaxy

also here https://xdaforums.com/t/the-holy-grail-universal-no-bl-root-for-qualcomm-devices-bypass-locked-bootloaders.4782827/ (OP seems to be sorta llm slop but there’s genuine info from other people’s posts)
