GNOME is not for everyone, but I don’t fault them for having a vision and sticking to it. Imho it’s all the distros choosing GNOME as their default desktop that collectively have made it seem like GNOME has a special place. But GNOME itself has no responsibility to add things based on user opinions.
Nothing because the GNOME devs don’t listen to the user base. it’s more like what THEY dream of and will then say “these are your dreams too”.
If you like GNOME then power to you, but I avoid that thing like the plague.
