Global warming appears to have shifted into a faster gear. After removing the effects of El Niño, volcanic eruptions, and solar cycles, researchers found that the planet has warmed at roughly 0.35°C per decade over the past ten years, compared with just under 0.2°C per decade from 1970 to 2015. The acceleration, which becomes visible around 2013 to 2015, appeared across five major global temperature datasets with more than 98% statistical certainty.
Even if you ignore anything else, just speak to ANY mountaineer, and they’ll all tell you that glaciers are drying up
Conservatives in the US (at least as a platform, not so much down to the individual) have mostly given up pretending that the climate isn’t changing, they are just refusing to take responsibility for it. They are currently pretending it’s an act of God/ nature and that it’s laughable for man to be able to influence it.
You don’t hace to be a mpuntaineer, i can see the glacier going away from my window.
Oh damn that’s gotta suck. Do you have to deal with flooding or anything like that?
yeah, back when i was young and had energy there was this 12 mile run up a mountain to the glacier (or where it was) and back i’d do once or twice a year. last time i saw the glacier was like, 20 years ago.
Lakes in Minnesota are frozen something like 30 days less per year on average than they were in 1975.
Climate change deniers are either stupid, greedy, or both.
