    It quite certainly will. And probably in the worst possible way.

    For the far right AfD (which hate Pride themselves, but are really good at double-think), this might be the event that tips the scale in the upcoming elections in Saxony-Anhalt so that they gain absolute majority.

    For the left, which is already torn about issues like Palestine and the compatibility of absolute religious beliefs with an open society, this will widen existing gaps and further fracture the left wing movements.

    I am always trying to see the positive side of things, but increasingly can’t ignore any more that the previous two years feel like a speedrun to a dark doomsday here in Germany.
