It is also colloquially used when someone does something very dumb or fails to understand something very simple. It’s directed at the action, not the person and even though it is related to spain, it’s not because we hat spain. Is it weird that we don’t consider it offensive or a slur? Yeah. Is it the only “insult” or whatever that we use like that? Nope. The word “negro” is also used in so many ways that I can’t keep count.
In your specific case, you seem to fail to grasp the concept of people travelling to different countries without losing ther nationality. I clearly said that I watched in rome and spaniards barely celebrated. It’s obvious that I was referring to actual spaniards watching it in rome. But you keep repeating “rome isn’t spain”? Are you trying to tell me that you know first grade geography or just that you lack any sort of reading comprehension skills?
