Over there on Lemmy.World, what happens when you hover your mouse over another user’s name? Does a popup card of info appear after a second or two?
In any case, that’s what appears using PieFed software, which is where the 46% number is listed. And yeah-- for sure it’s a precise number, exactly calculated from your upvote / downvote ratio.
I can also see such info (and more) if I go ahead and click on another user’s ID, but the popup box is certainly handy for not needing to do that.
Okay, but can you see that number if you click on your own user page?
At this point I’m thinking “attitude” isn’t actually generated by Lemmy, which would explain why you can’t see it.
As for how it’s calculated, the PieFed author (Rimu) says this:
There is a similar and visible stat that every profile has, which is ‘attitude’. That is the ratio of upvotes vs downvotes they cast. It can be helpful for spotting nasty people or those that engage in vote brigading.
I’m sure you’re over this, but I just saw DundasStation’s comment about Lemvotes.org and was able to determine the piefed calculation is based on percent of post votes that are downvotes and doesn’t include comment votes (my comment “attitude” is 35% 😁)
As someone who browses exclusively by New I’m guessing I encounter far more spam and troll posts than the average lemming. It would be interesting to know if votes for deleted posts and/or banned users are included in the totals or not.
Either way it’s nice to know all this info is out there…
That’s a Piefed-exclusive feature. So only Piefed users can see it.
Your observation is correct, though. You can use Lemvotes to look up any user here and you’ll see their upvote & downvote history. The user you’re replying to has downvoted quite a lot of posts and comments. Still mostly upvotes, but not an insignificant amount of downvotes.

Interesting - I pretty much exclusively browse Lemmy on mobile with a third party app. That number is surprising though…🤔

This is all I see. If I click into Upvoted and Downvoted it just lists the posts and comments I’ve up/downvoted. It doesn’t show counts.
Okay, that settles that.
So from your end, you might possibly consider that I’m just making the whole “attitude” thing up!

Hmm, good to know!

Thanks! I recall trying that once, it not seeming to work, and then me forgetting all about it. Nice tool, though.
