He’s not wrong from a BIBLICAL standpoint.

The Bible also says disobedient children should be murdered. The Bible says that if you rape a child, you have to give her dad $50 and marry her. The Bible is OBSESSED with foreskin collection.

It says a lot of very stupid tripe, that’s why nobody bothers following it.

The Bible is OBSESSED with foreskin collection.

      That makes sense tho…

Like Old Testament was for the one group in the area who removed those as children. No adult spy would do that for cover, and it would take substantial time to heal to pass

So it wasn’t “we love foreskins, gimmie them foreskins” as much as “give me the one thing that proved you killed an adult man who wasn’t part of us”.

It was genocide, if you weren’t part of ‘the tribe’ you were an enemy and should be killed.

So yeah, totally evil, but logical.

Just So stories about the logical reason for genital mutilation don’t hold water. Even in the Bible, there are accounts of how the Israelites could tell friend from foe: they did it by accent (search on “shibboleth” for more details), not by examining the guy’s schwantz. Much easier from a safe distance.

Also, many other tribal societies also practiced circumcision and other forms of genital mutilation, some living adjacent to each other. And snipping is also practiced in Islam, which encompasses multiple nationalities.

I always laugh at this argument, because there’s a more amusing argument. Yeah, it’s Israel’s land and they’re G-d’s chosen people. But multiple times in the Bible G-d has taken that land from them and even had them enslaved by nearby nations! At this point in the mythos, G-d, the Messiah, has yet to reveal himself. He’s still in silence lol So, based on all that, it sounds like Israel needs to take some responsibility for what they do.
