President Volodymyr Zelensky used a speech at the World Economic Forum on Jan. 22 to deliver a sharp warning to Europe, accusing its leaders of recognizing global threats year after year while failing to act decisively.

“Just last year, here in Davos, I ended my speech by saying Europe needs to know how to defend itself,” Zelensky said. “A year has passed, and nothing has changed. I am forced to say the same words again.”

Zelensky spoke shortly after holding talks with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the forum, in what marked their first in-person meeting this year.

After the talks, the Ukrainian president said a two-day trilateral meeting involving Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia is scheduled to begin on Jan. 23 in the United Arab Emirates.

The alternative was not expanding NATO’s sphere, not couping Ukraine, not creating the circumstances for a preemptive Russian strike before yet another country gets globbled up America and its goons (imagine if Iran had the capacity to strike Israel before all the American strikes done thanks to their regional goon and possibly a future one took place…), but that’s not how it went. We shall see how it evolves.

The alternative was not expanding NATO’s sphere,

NATO didn’t annex anyone, countries ask to join. Like Sweden and Finland did after Russia’s imperialist actions got a little too close.

We shall see how it evolves.

Well, Russia already gained two more NATO neighbors thanks to your aggression, so I wouldn’t exactly call it a roaring success so far.

Yes, just put the countries who wanted protection from Russia, after centuries of enduring russian imperialism back in their sphere of influence. That will make everyone happy! Fuck. Off.
