The fact that this issue was first talked about in 2015 and the package is still in the repos is… concerning, at least.
I mean, it’s Debian. To a point I can understand it.
And, from what I can get from the thread, it’s not really a problem that the package exists - rather that the software is packaged and distributed unpatched.
