I put “Reddit employee” in quotation marks because they’re giving the vibe that they’re praising that website so much.

That suicide bot still being active when it became primarily a tool for harassment is so so stupid.

From what I’ve seen so far during my short time in Lemmy, there doesn’t seem to be any fuss about mods (or lack thereof) being power hungry and that’s good. And the people I’ve interacted with so far seemed to be helpful most of the time, whether I’ve got a gardening related question. You can’t escape hostility anywhere so you just gotta have to eat those sometimes but we move on. I’ve also gotten the “Reddit cares” bot message because I seemed to have commented something about Stardew valley which wasn’t even that bad, but I don’t remember what I said but I know what I said wasn’t bad to incur such a bot sent my way lol. Glad you (and I) found this place and hope to use this for years to come and hopefully no Lemmy gatekeepers tells us we can’t be here 👋🏽

Oh there has been some, but 99% of the time it’s someone clearly either mentally (or literally) 10 years old whining about their esgy trolling/dumbass ignorance being removed … or the tanky admins/mods from .ml banning opinions and news they don’t like.

It’s all the modern convenience we’ve come to love with the social environment of 15 years ago when using the internet felt fun
