8gb is garbage even for 1080p titles of today
When the premium for double the memory is so small it doesn’t make sense to buy the 8gb model. I’d bet it is 90% forward looking gamers to 10% stable diff/AI.
I would guess it’s mostly about gaming. 8GB was great 10 years ago. It’s not really enough now, especially if you’re running more than 1080p. $400 for an 8GB card is also a really bad deal.
