Big US technology companies have been offered a significant tax cut by Keir Starmer in return for lower tariffs from Donald Trump’s administration as the UK braces itself for a global trade war.
The Guardian understands the UK government is willing to reduce the headline rate of its digital services tax (DST) in an attempt to placate the US president, while at the same time applying the levy to companies from other countries.
Ask Neville Chamberlain how well appeasement worked last time.
Surely Trump will respect any agreement you make with him. He would never go back on his word.
Capitulating to the Dumpster in any way doesn’t guarantee he won’t be back looking for more.
Keir should know this, and if he doesn’t he shouldn’t be PM.
Oh you’re giving in? Awesome! Now I fuck you harder!!!
Its fine - the loss will be covered by the millions pushed into Victorian levels of poverty via his recent welfare cuts. After all, those billionaires really deserve another private jet.
Boooo
We knew Starmer would be worse than Corbyn, but boy this shit has been embarrassing.
So much for the commonwealth standing strong, thats what bullies do though, try and break the weak one by one.
