I take it to mean that trump failed, lost, and made things worse for the world and his own country, so now he doesn’t want to play anymore because he is being exposed as a big fat loser.

But I have a deeper question. Why would the US maintain bases in other countries ?? What impact it has on the treasury ?? And how does it increase the national prestige ???

Military force projection. To maintain an imperial hegemony, you need some kind of presence in the places you’re looking to control. That control in turn can be used both for economic advantages (for the imperialist, mind you, not for the exploited) and to establish proxies as defense against other imperialists. The former benefits the treasury; the latter national security.

Both fuck over the other countries, but you can guess how much the imperialist powers care about that.

      Not this time!

I fixed it by putting in “sell” order for market open on Monday. Gotta pay for my kid’s college tuition.

So ofc this will absolutely be the time the market goes down Monday AM. Make my pain your gain: buy put options

It means he has embroiled the US in yet another war (after campaigning on “no new wars”, because he had to distract from his involvement with sex trafficker J. Epstein.

Now he needs to keep the rhetoric up, because it’s becoming increasingly obvious that the Iran War is costing the US dearly.

      It’s probably already cost Taiwan.

(Unless they can do a deal with Ukraine and Japan to churn out a Gundam Drone Army)

          Taiwan’s fucked:

Trump doesn’t give a flying fnord about their life.

& once Trump’s dictatorship’s instantiated, he’s enforcing his “Greater North America” war on Canada, using Greenland to sever our EU-lifeline, WHILE…

enforcing Civil War Part2: confederate-vengeance, WHILE

enforcing imperial-expansion wars throughout the rest of the Americas.

          Asia’s abandoned.

          Europe?

China will simply tell whomever’s running Russia: “you rampage on Europe all you can, & we’ll supplant you in gov’t & industry, in Russia, but you get to play tzar until you die” … and the ruler(s) of Russia/“Russia” will accept that, because they’re otherwise helpless/hobbled/powerless, & asserting-power’s an addiction.

China gets the West grinded-down, without Chinese blood spilt, AND…

China can then concentrate on grinding-down Asia.

          No help from the West.

          No help from anybody.

Modi’s India, which bet the whole farm on Russia standing with them against China … has nothing, then.

ClimatePunctuation’ll trash India while they’re trying to fight China ( which is probably part of why China won’t ditch coal, tbh ).

EVERYthing in this world’s current-vectors is setting-up Regional Consolidation Time™.

7-ish years of each region getting … not-diverse.

( I expect that whomever it is who ends-up owning the Middle-East, they will then set about owning Africa, and I don’t expect that to be Netanyahu or Iran. )

… that the majority of us voters felt was super appropriate to take office a second time, no doubt due to the bang up job he did the first time.

Most of the heavy-lifting in voting against Harris seemed to come down to

        1. Biden fucked-over her opportunity to campaign
        2. the white-supremacist vote
        3. the male-supremacist vote
        4. her unflinching backing of Netanyahu, & his … “special military operations” in other countries, Gaza, West-Bank, etc.

It wasn’t voting for Trump, rather, it was voting against Harris, that put Trump in power, from what I can see.

It means that he wasn’t going to get an AUMF from Congress in his 60 day window, which is what I pretty much expected. Now it sounds like he’s going to try to continue the blockade portion (i.e. not the bombing) but argue that imposing a blockade doesn’t constitute deployment of troops, which I suspect isn’t going to fly if it comes to court. But we’ll see how the legal and political maneuvering plays out.
