For non-German readers: AMD will move RDNA 2 and RDNA 1 into Legacy mode starting with AMD Software Adrenalin Edition 25.10.2. Therefor these devices will only receive updates for security or other critical issues. But no new Features (e.g. FSR 4) will be added.

I think this a very customer unfriendly decision. Especially cosnidering the use of Ryzen Z2 GO and Ryzen Z2 A in the Handheld Market used (for example) in:

  • Lenovo Legion Go S
  • ROG Ally X

Does anybody know if it will be the same on Linux (e.g. SteamOS)? I did not find any information regarding support in the Linux Kernel Driver. But I think the situation might be the same?

You could have linked any of the english articles that clearly say it is only Windows that is not getting any new features in the driver updates. Linux is unaffected by AMD’s Windows driver decisions.

I am not familiar with english speaking (and reliable) gaming news Sites. Do you have a link to a trustworthy source to place here?
